First of all, we have to say that the move from batch scripts to XProc 3.0 was a very smooth experience. Compared to developing pipelines with XProc 1.0, the process is a lot faster. This is thanks both to the wealth of syntactic sugar and to the much cleaner concept of some frequently used steps. The type system for variables and options provides a new level of security. The availability of XPath 3.0 and the respective functions improves programming a lot. And we are pleased to say that we did not miss parameter ports for a second.
