After the paper is ready it is submitted to the conference committee to be reviewed. The review can be a multi-step process in which authors iterate on the paper after a round of reviews.

This review is usually performed on the PDF or Word version of the paper and comments are written in the Conference Management System and not directly linked to parts of the document. For multi-round reviews have to identify the changed parts of the paper and to evaluate whether their previous feedback how addressed.
